Xbox One will have backwards compatibility

Microsoft announced during the E3 expo that the Xbox One console will soon sport backwards compatibility, while the new feature is in beta mode for preview members, it will roll out to all owners this holiday.

Backwards compatibility will see both retail and digital Xbox 360 games available to be played on the Xbox One. Currently, there are only 18 games supported for preview, at the end of the year there will be more than 100.

The announcement was met with critical acclaim from press and owners of the gaming console. The ability to play Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One could mean an increase in sales for the new system, and the upgrade will allow for gamers to play DLC from their 360 games on the Xbox One, as well as play online multiplayer.

Microsoft is surveying Xbox owners about what games they want to see become backwards compatible next. You can vote here https://xbox.uservoice.com/forums/298503
